Rotherham have not lost a single league game of which the young centre-back has started in this season.
The 22-year-old on loan from Huddersfield Town has started 16 league games this season so far. All of which were won or drawn.
He has made a great impression the first half of the season at the South Yorkshire side, playing on the right and left side of a back three.
Danny Glaves, a writer, and vlogger for Millers’ fan podcast New York Talk, says the impressive statistic “goes to show how important he is” to this Rotherham team.
“It shows how well he suits a back three, and his cohesion with the other centre-backs,” Danny said.
“He is certainly a key player that keeps his ability on the pitch to a high standard, and he is keeping Wes Harding out the team, which is an achievement in itself,” Danny added.
Shortly after signing for Huddersfield Town on his 17th birthday, Edmonds-Green was made captain of its under-18s team in the 2016-17 season. A suggestion of acquiring leadership skills early in his career.
Rotherham fan, Danny Glaves, believes he has shown “a level of maturity higher than his age suggests" this season.
“He is definitely a player who can organise other players into defensive positions, which is probably why he’s slotted in alongside [Richard] Wood and [Michael] Ihiekwe really well as they are captain and vice-captain.”
His rise to great form is more so applaudable given that he was forced to play catch-up after missing pre-season with Town due to a Covid bout.
According to The Sun, Edmonds-Green is attracting interest from Championship sides Cardiff, Preston, and Barnsley.
Huddersfield have an option to recall the centre-back this month. Although that is a concern for Rotherham fans, Danny is confident that he will remain there for the remainder of the season.
“The deal suits both parties to a tee so, personally, I can’t see him heading elsewhere on loan and Huddersfield are in a strong position with their defenders."
Highly thought of at this parent club, there are considerations for Huddersfield to make before deciding where he goes next.
Centre-back Levi Colwill, on loan at Huddersfield, will return to Chelsea in May and Naby Sarr’s deal is due to expire this summer. This suggests the Terriers may consider utilising Edmonds-Green next season.
